MEMBERSHIP AND DUES REQUIREMENTS

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:  

Any regularly appointed* and full time employed Law Enforcement Officer of the United States, the State of Washington, or political sub-division thereof, and military law enforcement personnel whose sole function is law enforcement duties within the United States Armed Forces shall be eligible for membership in the lodge, subject to provisions of the Constitution and the By-laws of the Lodge. No person shall be denied membership due to race, color, creed, sex, or age. The Lodge shall deny membership to anyone who is, or has been, a member of the Communist Party, or any party, regardless of the name known, which advocates the overthrow or destruction of our Government, either by force or subversive means.

*The Term "Regularly Appointed" Law Enforcement Officer, is a person who is active or retired from active duty in the service of the United States or any of the States or political sub-division thereof. The term "Full Time Employed" shall mean Law Enforcement Officers that are engaged in such employment as their principal source of livelihood. There are three (3) categories of membership, Active, Honorary, and Associate.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:

Active membership shall be compromised of regularly appointed full time employed Law Enforcement Officers of the United States, the State of Washington, or political sub-divisions thereof, and only those military members classified within the designation of Military Police (Army/USMC), Masters-At-Arms (Navy), or Security Police (USAF) whose sole function is that of law enforcement duties within the United States Armed Forces. Only active members, as herein defined, shall have voice and vote.

Honorary membership shall consist of retired regularly appointed or elected law enforcement officers, who withdraw from active membership upon or after retirement.

Associate membership shall be comprised of citizens of good moral character, other than Law Enforcement Officers, who support and further the ideas and goals of the Fraternal Order of Police and who apply for such membership.

APPLICATION:  

Upon completion of your application, receipt of membership dues, and approval of your application by vote of the membership. You will be invited to attend a regular meeting, and will be sworn in. 2010-2011 DUES (Effective 31JUL2010)*

  • $40.00 Honorary Members
  • $20.00 Associate Members

Annual membership dues must be received by the Secretary by 31 JULY 2010.   The Lodge Secretary must submit the annual per-capita tax* report to the State Lodge on or before November 1st.  Dues not received by October 1st., membership will be suspended.  For reinstatement, current, and past dues and assessment fee must be paid.   A $10 reinstatement fee will be assessed on members who are suspended in addition to dues in arrears.  

*All local lodges are required to pay Per-Capita Tax on all members. Of the membership dues paid by each member $9.50 is paid to the National Fraternal Order of Police in Nashville, Tennessee, $18.00 is paid to the Washington Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge. The remainder stays within the Lodge for operating cost, and web page.

All Members. To pay your dues, print out our web INVOICE and send in your check or money order to the address listed above.  Checks should be made out to FOP EVERGREEN LODGE #1.

Automatic Withdrawal (Federal Officers/Employees only): "Tired of mailing that check every July?  Federal officers/employees may elect to have dues withdrawn automatically from their pay using SF 1187.  You may select Option A: Dues only ($1.93 per pay period) or Option B: Dues and Legal Defense Plan ($8.85 per pay period)  Return the signed and completed application to the Lodge Secretary with your FOP application."
