MEMBERSHIP
AND DUES REQUIREMENTS
MEMBERSHIP
DEFINITIONS: Any
regularly appointed and full time employed Law Enforcement Officer of the United
States, the State of Washington, or political sub-division thereof, and any
military member rated as a Master-At-Arms whose sole function is law enforcement
duties within the United States Armed Forces shall be eligible for membership in
the lodge, subject to provisions of the Constitution and the By-laws of the
Lodge. No person shall be denied membership due to race, color, creed, sex, or
age. The Lodge shall deny membership to anyone who is, or has been, a member of
the Communist Party, or any party, regardless of the name known, which advocates
the overthrow or destruction of our Government, either by force or subversive
means.
The Term "Regularly Appointed" Law Enforcement Officer, is a
person who is active or retired from active duty in the service of the United
States or any of the States or political sub-division thereof. The term "Full
Time Employed" shall mean Law Enforcement Officers that are engaged in such
employment as their principal source of livelihood. There are three (3) classes
of membership, Active, Honorary, and Associate.
ACTIVE membership shall be compromised of regularly appointed full
time employed Law Enforcement Officers, or retired Law Enforcement Officers, of
the United States, the State of Washington, or political sub-divisions thereof,
and only those military members classified within the designation of
Masters-At-Arms whose sole function is that of law enforcement duties within the
United States Armed Forces. Only active members, as herein defined, shall have
voice and vote.
HONORARY membership shall consist of retired regularly appointed
or elected law enforcement officers, who withdraw from active membership upon or
after retirement.
ASSOCIATE membership shall be comprised of citizens of good moral
character, other than Law Enforcement Officers, who support and further the
ideas and goals of the Fraternal Order of Police and who apply for such
membership.
LOCALLODGE: our fraternal organization is made up of law enforcement officers
from the local community. The local lodge is an independent body in the conduct
of its own affairs. The local lodge officers are elected from the membership of
the lodge. Each local lodge has is own set of Constitution and By-laws approved
by the National Constitution and By-laws Committee. Each lodge is a member of
the State Lodge and is represented at the state board meetings and conferences
by delegates elected by the local lodge.
FEES FOR NEW MEMBERS:
Upon completion, receipt of membership fees of $40.00 Active, $25.00
Associate, and approval of your application by vote of the membership. You
will be invited to attend a regular meeting, and will be sworn in. Your
membership card will be forwarded to you when received by National.
Federal Officers membership dues are paid though payroll deduction.
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIPDUES: Annual membership dues of $40.00 are due on July 1, 2007.
The Lodge Secretary must submit the annual per-capita tax report to the State
Lodge on or before November 1st. Dues not received by October 1st., membership
will be indefinitely suspended and dropped by the Lodge. Reinstatement,
current and past dues must be paid. Dues may be mailed to the below address, make your
check or money order out to Evergreen Lodge #1, see invoice below. We have
added PayPal for the convenience for our members, there is a $3.00 service
charge, see the below payment method.
DUES
BRAKE-DOWN: all local lodges are required to pay Per-Capita Tax on all
members. Of the membership dues paid by each member $6.50 is paid to the
National Fraternal Order of Police in Nashville, Tennessee, $12.00 is paid to the Washington
Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge. The remainder stays within the Lodge for
operating cost, web page.
